This site is a tribute to Claire and Bob Bond, from Layer de la Haye, Colchester. After battles with cancer, we sadly lost our mother on 23rd January, 2024, and our step father on 4th February, 2024. They are much loved and will always be remembered.

Our mother, Claire, had breast cancer a number of years ago which she was successfully treated for and overcame. In 2022 she was diagnosed with low-grade, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Unfortunately, this progressed into a high-grade lymphoma to the central nervous system.

Our step father, Bob, was diagnosed in 2017 with bowel cancer, following a perforated bowel. A secondary cancer was identified a couple of years later in his liver. After what appeared to be a successful operation, more liver cancer was identified last year. This time the cancer was pressing onto the bile duct, causing significant complications.

Due to both our parents being effected by cancer, we would welcome donations for Cancer Research UK please. 

We would also like to send donations to St Helena Hospice, as the carers were extremely supportive and empathetic towards Bob in his last weeks. We would not have coped well without them.
